If there is any good news to come out of last weekends disappointing loss to Michigan, it
is that ND now enters the game against Michigan State in East Lansing MI as 3.5 point
underdogs. While it will be the first time this season the Irish are underdogs, it seems
as though we would have certainly been favored had the outcome of the Michigan game
Even so, there still isn’t a whole lot of confidence in Notre Dame throughout Vegas. As
of right now, according to vegasinsider.com, Michigan State is getting 58% of all action
against the spread throughout the Vegas books. Most books have seen their lines move
the past day or two, but the vast majority are still giving ND 3.5.
For us ND fans, their 1-2 straight up record as road dogs after playing Michigan doesn’t
bode well, however, they are 2-1 ATS in the same situation, which may entice the
gamblers in us to stick with our Irish yet again this weekend. With the current leaders
only up 1,000 credits through week 2, there is still a lot left in the season for everyone to
take their chances at winning the $1,000 first prize.
We are expecting the typical high scoring, big play ND vs. MSU game this Saturday.
With the news today that Crist is apparently 100% and ready to go as the starter, all
signs point to the Irish covering the +3.5. In fact, you heard it hear first, ND straight up,
avoiding the neighbor state sweep.
